As of April 1, 2012 there are some changes to the the grids for the Safety & Health Specialist Program; Two new courses have been added 445 Laboratory Safety, which is a new elective for the Industrial Hygiene participants, and 446 Indoor Air Quality, which is now a core for the Industrial Hygiene program and an elective for the General Industry program. In addition the 7845 Recordkeeping Rule course has been eliminated as a core course for the entire program. Only new registrants need to concern themselves with these changes.

The Safety and Health Specialist Certificate Program is designed for safety and health professionals wanting additional knowledge and credentials in the field of safety and health. This well-rounded learning experience allows you to gain the skills necessary to create solutions to workplace safety challenges.

Notice regarding the Safety & Health Specialist for Healthcare & Emergency Planning: Our Health Care and Emergency Planning Safety and Health Specialist program is currently suspended pending OSHA’s release of a new OSHA Standards for Healthcare Facilities. Those who are already working on their Certificate for HC&EP may continue to do so. When the new course is in place and some adjustments made to the program itself, we will reintroduce the revised Safety and Health Specialist for Health Care and Emergency Planning. The Certified Safety and Health Official (CSHO) program offered through Keene State College Region 1 OTIEC, is a practical OSHA training-based advanced certificate program.

All participants registered prior to March 1, 2011 should continue with the program as it was at the time of their registration.

Administered through Keene State College’s Division of Continuing Education, this graduate level Safety and Health Certificate program is a precursor for entry into a graduate program in Safety and Health or a related area of study. This program is available to those who currently hold a safety position or are aspiring to become a safety and health professional.
