DAVID BERARD, CSP, PE
David has over 30 years of experience with OSHA. He has been involved in more than 2,600 inspections in General Industry, Construction, as well as Maritime. David is a registered, professional engineer in the state of New Hampshire, a Safety Professional and an OSHA instructor in General Industry and Construction.

LONNA BLAIS, CIH
Lonna is Adjunct in the Safety Studies Program at Keene State College where she teaches Health Hazard Identification, Construction Standards and a variety of other safety and health related courses. She spent 21 years employed by the Occupational Safety and Health Administration as a Safety and Health Compliance Officer in the Concord, New Hampshire area office. She spent over 5 years with the Department of Defense as an Industrial Hygienist working for the Naval Medical Command Detachment and Portsmouth Naval Shipyard.

WILLIAM P. BROWN, M.S., FACCP, CEM, CHS-III
Bill is the EMS administrator and emergency program manager at a hospital in southern New Hampshire. Active in emergency preparedness for 21 years, Bill is a fellow of the American College of Contingency Planners, a certified emergency manager, and certified in homeland security. He holds many instructor certifications and teaches in incident command, CERT, WMD awareness, emergency preparedness, and hospital decontamination procedures.

DAVID S. BUCK, Ed.D.
David has spent the past 25 years teaching in the safety program at Keene State College. He is a lead instructor at the OSHA Training Institute Education Center. He teaches accident investigation, machine guarding, and respiratory protection. David is past president of the Safety and Health Council of Northern New England and is a member of the American Society of Safety Engineers. He is the founder of the Region 1 OSHA Training Institute Education Center in Manchester, New Hampshire.

MARTHA CATEVENIS, B.S., OHST
Martha is a safety and health consultant who holds the designation of occupational health and safety technologist from the Council on Certification of Health, Environmental, and Safety Technologists. She has been an adjunct faculty member at the New England OSHA Training Institute Education Center for six years, instructing both general industry and construction related courses. She owns a consulting business.

CHIP DARIUS, OHST, CET, CIT, FST, EMT
Chip has provided occupational safety and health consulting and training services for 20 years to general industry, construction, healthcare and emergency service organizations (EMS, fire/ rescue, law enforcement). He has been a certified emergency medical technician for 30 years is an instructor-trainer for First Aid/CPR & AED. Chip is an OSHA Outreach Training instructor in General Industry and has taught a variety of OSHA-developed courses for OTI since 2002.

JAY FITZPATRICK
Jay has 20 years of construction safety management and training experience. He worked as a corporate safety director for a general contractor before starting his consulting business in1990. He serves as safety consultant to companies throughout the Northeast. Jay has served as an instructor for the OSHA Education Center for New England since 1994.

JAMES T. GOSS, CHST
Jim has over 20 years of diverse safety and health retail, warehouses, and for over 3,000 employees including responsibility for a corporate construction safety program for a large portion of the Northeastern United States. Jim specialized in construction safety for general and specialty contractors throughout the Northeast and became one of the first Construction Health and Safety Technicians in the country. As Vice President of an insurance brokerage firm he managed the Loss Prevention Services Department. He currently provides national training in construction for the Association of General Contractors of America and serves as Vice Chairman of the Government Affairs Committee for AGC’s National Safety and Health Committee. Jim is Region 1 OTIEC premier 3110 Fall Arrest Systems trainer with qualifications to lead OTIEC Construction based courses.

LANCE GURNEY
With more than 30 years of experience in developing, implementing, and administering employee safety and health programs, Lance focuses on the construction industry and his chairmanship of Region 1 Maritime courses. He earned the first Safety Person of the Year Award from Maine’s associated general contractors. Working in partnership with Maine’s former OSHA director, he developed and directed the safety efforts for two General Electric plants, earning membership in OSHA’s voluntary protection program. They also worked with a paper mill, earning the Hammer Award, given by the vice president of the United States, for outstanding safety process.

MARK B. HASKINS, M.S., CSP
Mark has worked in safety and health since 1981. He held a part-time faculty position at the University of New Haven from 1990 – 2008. Mark is currently the principal at Practical Safety Solutions, LLC. Formerly, he has been manager of safety and health for pharmaceutical and chemical companies, as well as for a multinational construction company. He holds a master’s degree in Occupational Safety and Health Management, a graduate certificate in industrial hygiene, and a bachelor’s degree in biology. He is a Safety Professional (CSP) in comprehensive practice.

DANIEL KNAPIK, CET, CIT
Mr. Knapik has 21 years of experience in the field of occupational safety and health. He is a certified environmental trainer in the fields of occupational safety and health and the transportation and management of hazardous materials and hazardous waste. Additionally, he has been an OSHA outreach instructor for construction and general industry since 1996. He has been a professional occupational safety and health instructor since 1990 and has trained thousands of persons throughout the United state on a variety of occupational safety and health topics. He is currently mayor of Westfield, Massachusetts.
STEPHEN R. LARSON, M.S., CSP, CIH
Stephen has been an occupational and environmental health professional since 1973, a certified safety professional since 1980, and a certified industrial hygienist since 1981. He has served as the director of comprehensive occupational and environmental health and safety programs at hospitals, universities, and scientific research institutions. Stephen was also a radiation control officer for the Commonwealth of Massachusetts from 1999-2004. Stephen has been on the faculty of several institutions.

HOLLY LeCLAIR, CPEA, CPSI
Holly began her safety career working for a general contractor in 1994 prior to working in loss control in the insurance industry. Involved with the Vermont section of the American Society of Safety Engineers, Holly has been a member of the safety and training committee for Associated General Contractors of Vermont for 12 years.

KIMLEE LINDGREN, BS
Kim is a safety and health consultant with over 30 years of experience. Prior to coming to the Region 1 OTIEC, she served as the Construction Curriculum and Industry Director for the OTIEC in San Diego for 20 years. Her expertise is in construction with previous employment with general contractors, specialty contractors, insurance companies and trade associations. Kim is also a former compliance officer for Cal/OSHA. She is a Professional Member of the ASSE and a past president of the San Diego Chapter. Kimlee serves as Construction and Maritime Industries Curriculum Director and Chairperson for OTIEC Region 1.

LEE MARCHESSAULT
Lee has 24 years of experience in the Electric Utility Industry before going into consulting in 2002.  OTIEC trainer for Electrical Standards OSHA Courses and short term technical programs. Lee continues to maintain his Electrician license and Commercial Driver’s license; and holds several safety certifications including the National Safety Council’s Certified Utility Safety Administrator (CUSA).

DAVID C. MAY, SC.D., CIH, PE
David is Assistant Professor in the Safety Studies Program at Keene State College where he teaches industrial hygiene and OSHA related courses. He spent 29 years employed by the Occupational Safety and Health Administration, much of which was as Area Director of the Concord, New Hampshire area office. He is also Principal of Concord Cymorth, LLC, a small research/consulting firm.

PETER T. McDONOUGH, MS
Peter has a Bachelor of Science degree in Physics and Master of Science degree in Management from Polytechnic University in Brooklyn, NY. Peter currently has more than 16 years’ experience as a professional Environmental, Health & Safety Officer and is also an experienced EMT, Firefighter and Hazardous Materials Technician (Specialist), and is also an experienced Radiological Health Physicist. Peter is currently an OSHA-Instructor for General Industry, Construction Industry and OSHA’s new Maritime Industry Outreach Program. Peter is also an active instructor at several local community colleges and an instructor for the American Red Cross, the National Safety Council and the US Department of Energy (TEPP / MERRT).

STEVEN MYERS, CFI
Steven R. Myers, CFI has 25 years experience in safety and health. Steve is a former occupational safety compliance officer with Vermont OSHA and is an experienced trainer in a variety of regulatory fields. Steve has spent many years working in the private sector in both general industry and construction. He brings a unique perspective to employers and employees with his knowledge and understanding of safety regulations, and experience managing workers compensation claims in the insurance industry.

MIKE NEEDHAM, CSP, RES, CFPS, CET
Michael is a Certified Safety Professional and professional member of the American Society of Safety Engineers with over 20 years of experience in the military, public sector, heavy industry and construction.  Michael is also a Registered Environmental Scientist, Certified Fire Protection Specialist, Certified Occupational Health and Safety Technologist and Certified Environmental Trainer.

PATRICIA STAGNO, RT, CSHS
Ms. Stagno is a safety and training consultant who has spent more than twenty five years in the construction, safety, medical, and utility industry.  She began her safety career in the United States Navy, holds certificates in Emergency Management, Industrial Hygiene, Construction, and General Industry.  Patty also teaches CERT, WMD, and Incident Response to Terrorist Bombings.  She is a certified “Technical Emergency Response Technician” for Weapons of Mass Destruction.  Ms Stagno is an OSHA Outreach Training Instructor in Maritime, General and Construction Industries.

MICHAEL ZISKIN, CHCM, CHMM
Michael has been developing OSHA-compliant worker protection programs and providing adult learning and training for over 35 years.  As an OTIEC Region 1 instructor, he teaches both OTIEC and Keene courses for general Industry, construction, maritime, and disaster-site worker. Michael also teaches graduate courses at the University of New Haven in both the Fire Science and Environmental Science Departments.  He holds certifications in hazard control management and hazardous materials management and is a fellow of the Institute of Hazardous Materials Management. Michael serves as General Industry Curriculum Director and Chairperson for OTIEC Region 1.
